HashKey Global officially launched the BTCUSD fiat-pegged perpetual contract today, with USD as the settlement currency, allowing users to use USD directly as margin for contract trading without the need to hold stablecoins during the trading process. This helps eliminate the exchange step and reduce trading costs. This feature is mainly aimed at institutional and corporate investors holding fiat assets, with plans to open it to individual traders in the future, covering scenarios such as USD asset allocation and risk hedging.
Funds for the BTCUSD perpetual contract will be held in a separately established fiat risk reserve account and will be custodied and isolated to bank-grade standards, ensuring fund security and settlement compliance. This design draws on the traditional financial logic of USD pegging, aligning the platform's custody and settlement system more closely with international standards.
