Trump and Mexican Foreign Minister Ebrard to Discuss Tariff Issues Today

President Trump and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum will hold a phone call on Thursday to discuss trade and tariff issues, ahead of the Friday tariff deadline. Sheinbaum postponed a press conference to prepare for this call.

Mexican officials have been negotiating in Washington, and Economy Minister Marcelo Ebrard stated that Mexico has fulfilled its obligations, and now it is up to the United States to decide on the tariffs. Trump earlier warned that if Mexico does not intensify its efforts against drug cartels, tariffs could rise to 30%.
