Tokienization of real-world assets (RWA) is a business that is getting bigger, already moving billions in assets each year. The Stellar Development Foundation (SDF), the institution tasked with fostering adoption of the Stellar network, has announced a strategic partnership with Archax, the first crypto exchange regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in the UK.
In a press release, Archax reported that the partnership encompassed an investment of an undisclosed amount into its platform, securing the network’s participation as a tool in the projects involving the tokenization of real-world assets (RWA) by the exchange.
Archax notes that the RWA tokenization industry has grown significantly, expanding from $15.2 billion in December 2024 to over $24 billion by June 2025. This represents a rise of nearly 85% year-on-year.
Graham Rodford, CEO and co-founder of Archax, stated that 86% of all institutions have digital asset allocations or plan to have them in 2025, highlighting the relevance of this partnership. “Having established, credible partners and investors from the crypto world is a fundamental part of our strategy, and we are excited to welcome Stellar into that family,” he assessed.
Rodford explained that this team-up could also affect how tokenization deals are managed, putting a recent operation with Lloyds Banking Group and Aberdeen Investments as an example of a use case that might take advantage of Stellar’s traits. “As a result of this new partnership, this could now be done using the Stellar blockchain,” he noted.
Raja Chakravorti, Chief Business Officer at the Stellar Development Foundation, reinforced that the Stellar network was “purpose-built to enable fast settlement times, low costs, and the tokenisation of real-world assets.”
This is the Stellar Foundation’s second investment in Archax this year, having already given the company $4 million during Q1 to “build institutional infrastructure for tokenized funds, including on-chain treasuries.”
