XRP’s expanding role in payments and rewards continues to gain momentum as it becomes integrated into mainstream financial tools. Crypto exchange Gemini announced on Aug. 25 the release of the Gemini Credit Card, XRP edition, a limited-edition metal card that pays users directly in XRP. This development was publicly introduced via Gemini’s official account on social media platform X:

Issued by WebBank and running on the Mastercard network, the card carries distinct branding with the Gemini emblem positioned on the upper left and the XRP symbol on the upper right. It provides differentiated cashback tiers: 4% in XRP on gas, electric vehicle charging, and transit; 3% on dining; 2% on grocery purchases; and 1% on general expenditures.
Ripple amplified the announcement on X, emphasizing the tailored card design as a “special-edition design for the XRP community.” Noting that its stablecoin RLUSD is “now supported for U.S. spot trading,” Ripple said it enables “simplified trading, no extra conversion fees” and “fast and simple access to crypto and stable value.”

Gemini co-founders Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss also announced the launch of the XRP edition of the Gemini Credit Card, highlighting its XRP rewards on purchases. While Cameron described the card as simple to use, Tyler directly appealed to the XRP community, stating:

The program is limited to U.S. customers, with applications already open. Market analysts see the collaboration as a bid to expand real-world XRP use while strengthening Gemini’s consumer-facing offerings. While critics point out the risks of volatility tied to crypto rewards, supporters argue the immediate XRP payouts could provide long-term advantages, making the card a strategic tool for token accumulation.
