Bitcoin treasury firm Strategy, formerly known as MicroStrategy, disclosed in a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing that it purchased 4,048 bitcoin between Aug. 26 and Sept. 1 at an average price of $110,981 each, spending $449.3 million. The acquisition was financed primarily through proceeds from the issuance of Class A common stock and perpetual preferred shares.

The company now owns 636,505 bitcoin, acquired for approximately $47 billion at an average cost of $73,765 per coin. Strategy’s co-founder and executive chairman, Michael Saylor, also announced the acquisition of BTC on X.
