Tether now has a claim on the swap, payment, and savings flows that previously belonged to third-party wallets and exchanges.

The recent Big Four audit engagement clears the path for institutional capital. Reserve skepticism has been the single largest bear case on Tether for most of its existence. A full financial statement audit could remove that ceiling.
