PANews April 22 news, according to The Block report, Cardano's core development company Input Output Global submitted 9 proposals for the 2026 fiscal year to the treasury, with an overall funding request "slightly below 50%" compared to last year. The proposals center around the launch of the Leios scalability upgrade for the mainnet, aiming to increase Cardano's monthly transaction volume from approximately 800,000 to over 27 million. Leios is expected to enter the testnet in June and launch on the mainnet before the end of the year. IOG plans to apply for 62.1 million ADA (approximately 15.8 million USD) for node upgrades, monitoring, and security maintenance, and allow users to pay fees using non-ADA assets through Babel Fees, while exploring new economic models such as charging small fees for wallets, Bitcoin staking credit, and yield (Pogun proposal). IOG also plans to improve Plutus and formal verification tools to lower the entry barrier for developers.
