
PANews April 29 news, according to Bloomberg, cryptocurrency payment company MoonPay has acquired Israeli cryptocurrency security startup Sodot. The transaction was completed in an all-stock deal, worth approximately $100 million. MoonPay will use this to establish a new department, MoonPay Institutional, specifically targeting large traditional financial institutions, providing services such as cryptocurrency trading, tokenized securities, payments, wallet management, and stablecoin issuance. This department will be led by former Acting Chair of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) Caroline D. Pham, who joined MoonPay last December as Chief Legal Officer and Chief Operating Officer. Pham stated that as U.S. stablecoin regulations come into effect and blockchain security improves, institutions are accelerating their entry into the cryptocurrency and DeFi space.
