We've recently seen quite a few altcoins go down crazy amounts in the matter of days. This makes it even harder for retail participants to belief in any altcoin and go risk on. Probably a good thing in the long term as it makes people more aware of these risks and make them pick out projects that are well established and have gone through multiple years/cycles. That way at least you know there's a capable team in place and usually most big investor unlocks are done as well. These two things are important for a project to survive in the long run.
