I congratulate Denmark on assuming its Presidency of the EU Council and look forward to the next six months as a period of important decisions. Ukraine is implementing everything necessary in the negotiation process for our country’s accession to the European Union. This year — and it will be during Denmark’s Presidency — we will be ready to open all clusters. We especially value Denmark’s resolve in providing defense support to Ukraine, with numerous examples of Denmark’s true leadership supporting the security progress of all of Europe. I thank Denmark for its model of investing in weapons production in Ukraine, as well as for its consistent defense of Europe’s shared interests and the European way of life. During @eu2025dk, we must maintain pressure on Russia to protect all of Europe, our people, and the sovereignty and independence of European countries. Putin does not want a strong Europe; only Europeans truly need one. Therefore, Europe’s sanctions and those of other partners must be significantly more effective, and we, together with Denmark, certainly know how to achieve this. We are already preparing for a meeting with Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen @Statsmin, and I am confident we will have a substantive discussion. We will continue working together for a more effective European security architecture.
