Data: US unemployment claims increase, reaching a high since November 2021

Last week, the number of initial unemployment claims decreased from 237000 to 233000, a drop from a 9-month high. The number of people who continued to apply for unemployment benefits was 1.964 million, the highest level since November 2021. The so-called Deep Tristate (Washington D.C., Virginia, Maryland) region has led the sustained increase in the number of applicants, reaching its highest level since December 2021. (Golden Ten)
