An important and substantive meeting with @bundeskanzler Friedrich Merz. I am grateful for supporting Ukraine and organizing today’s meetings – the online meeting of leaders and the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing. Thank you for showing genuine unity and leadership at this time. We discussed our recent contacts with partners and further engagement with allies, the increase in defense support, Germany’s participation in the new PURL initiative, the strengthening of Ukraine’s air defense with two additional Patriot systems and missiles for them, and reliable security guarantees. We share a common understanding – as long as Russia takes no steps toward peace, we must continue to exert pressure on it and strengthen support for Ukraine. This is very important.
