Today, I met a friend from Xiaohongshu for the first time, a senior from high school who graduated three years ahead of me. She’s a total overachiever, but her current job is entirely self-taught and has nothing to do with her university or graduate studies. I feel like the purpose of school is to develop your ability to learn and to filter out a certain social circle. She works as a trader at Bank of America and is such a nice person. It feels like there’s still a lot of information gaps between different industries. They’re predicting no rate cuts next month but two rate cuts by the end of the year. We also talked about an interesting topic: a person’s ability to feel happiness and joy isn’t determined by how much money they have but rather shaped by their family upbringing. Xiaohongshu is such a fascinating platform. Even the organizers of Bitcoin Asia told me that advertising on Xiaohongshu has been super effective.
