**[Report: Latin American Developers Prefer Ethereum and Polygon Over New Chains]** According to a report by Cointelegraph, consulting firm Sherlock Communications revealed that the developer community in Latin America is increasingly inclined to build within established blockchain ecosystems like Ethereum and Polygon, rather than launching new layer-one protocols. The study incorporated qualitative feedback from 85 developers in Bolivia, Mexico, Brazil, and Peru. The findings indicate that developers in the region prioritize transparency, coordination, and compliance. They favor intuitive tools, comprehensive documentation, and proven track records, making networks like Ethereum and Polygon highly suitable for their needs. On-chain data analysis in the report supports this trend. Researchers analyzed 697,000 blockchain transactions linked to Latin American wallets and found that between June 2024 and June 2025, Ethereum accounted for over 75% of tagged transactions in the region. Meanwhile, during the same period, Polygon represented 11% of total activity. Polygon's adoption rate in the region continues to rise, with its activity nearly doubling by June 2025, reaching 20%.
