Looking at the open interest data, BTC and ETH have been on a deleveraging path over the past week. However, since the losses on October 11 were already significant, the pace of deleveraging has become less noticeable recently.
BTC has now reached the lowest open interest point in the past year, meaning there’s likely not much leverage left. Meanwhile, ETH has gone from reducing one-third of its leverage to cutting it by half.
Historically, lower leverage often leads to more capital inflows, which tends to support price increases.
