Every dollar spent must be properly accounted for. The same urgency that drives immediate action must also be matched by transparency and responsibility. I also ask for the cooperation of our citizens. Please ensure that you have proper identification and keep your important documents safe, place them in Ziploc bags or waterproof containers. This will help us to quickly verify beneficiaries and support faster recovery efforts. Accountability is not only for ourselves, but also for our international partners and donors who may assist in recovery.
