I appeal directly to those living in flood-prone areas; on gully banks, near rivers, or in communities that were affected during Hurricane Beryl. Please take this warning seriously. If you live in an area that was flooded before, expect that it will flood again. Begin taking every precaution now to protect your family and property. While I have not yet issued an evacuation order, I am putting everyone on notice that if a disaster is declared, evacuation orders will take effect immediately. We have already mapped the communities at risk and will publish those names shortly. The Ministry of Transport and the JUTC are prepared to provide evacuation support, and toll roads will remain open to help residents move quickly and safely if it becomes necessary.
