Opinion: Will RWA eventually end in chaos? Think carefully about how to wrap it up before diving in (Author: Liu Yang) RWA and digital collectibles are essentially the same thing—the difference lies in the assets they’re anchored to. One is tied to real assets, while the other is tied to small digital images. But that doesn’t mean anchoring to real assets comes with less risk. RWA can be simply summarized as asset tokenization, but this isn’t some groundbreaking concept. A long time ago, we already had a similar approach domestically called asset securitization. It’s essentially splitting assets into portions and selling them under the guise of putting assets on-chain. Still, it’s just old wine in a new bottle—raising funds through assets or distributing asset value via virtual currencies.
