According to POLITICO, the U.S. Senate has reached a bipartisan agreement to end the seven-week-long federal government shutdown. The agreement was spearheaded by Democratic Senators Angus King, Jeanne Shaheen, Maggie Hassan, along with Republicans, and has received support from Majority Leader John Thune and the White House. Under the agreement, Democrats have committed that at least eight senators will cast procedural "yes votes" to ensure the funding bill moves forward smoothly, with the government potentially reopening as early as this week. The agreement also includes: full-year funding for agriculture, veterans, military construction, and congressional operations; funding for other agencies extended until January 30, 2026; and furloughed federal employees during the shutdown will be reinstated and receive back pay. https://www.(wublock123.com)/index.php?m=content&c=index&a=show&catid=6&id=51581
