[Vitalik: ZK Cannot Provide Anti-Coercion, Requires Combination with Other Technologies] Vitalik Buterin responded to a c-node post, stating that zero-knowledge proofs (ZK) alone cannot provide anti-coercion capabilities. In scenarios such as voting, it needs to be combined with trusted parties, multi-party computation (MPC), fully homomorphic encryption (FHE), or trusted execution environments (TEE) to achieve this feature. He pointed out that combining ZK with architectures like FHE can enhance system security. Even if FHE is compromised, privacy attributes other than anti-coercion can still be preserved. He also speculated that similar situations apply to almost all other cryptographic application scenarios.
