The global markets collectively crashed. In just the time it takes for a nap, $10 trillion in market value went through wild swings and a shocking reversal, leading to a massive wealth transfer.
1. Gold plunged 8.2%, wiping out nearly $3 trillion in market value, but later recovered about $2 trillion.
2. Silver's market value first dropped 12%, evaporating $750 billion, then made a strong comeback, regaining $500 billion.
3. The S&P 500 Index fell 1.23%, losing $780 billion in market value, but recovered $530 billion before the close.
4. The Nasdaq Index plummeted over 2.5%, erasing $760 billion in market value, but rebounded $580 billion before the close.
5. Meanwhile, the crypto market looks even more pitiful. Bitcoin plunged from $88,000 to $83,400 in a cliff-like drop. As of now, there’s no sign of significant recovery, and it’s become the orphan abandoned by the market.
