The U.S. SEC has concluded its civil enforcement case against BitClout (later renamed DeSo) founder Nader Al-Naji. On March 12, both parties submitted a joint agreement to the federal court in the Southern District of New York, agreeing to permanently close the case and prohibiting the SEC from filing the same securities charges related to BitClout and its BTCLT token again. The case was initially filed in July 2024, accusing Al-Naji of raising approximately $257 million through token sales and violating securities laws.
