David Sacks, the White House AI and cryptocurrency affairs director, responded to concerns that "AI will massively replace the workforce," stating that AI still requires human oversight to create real business value.

Microsoft researchers recently released a list of 40 job types most likely to be replaced by AI, some of which also exist in the cryptocurrency industry.

Sacks pointed out in a post on the X platform on Saturday that "the claim that AI causes unemployment is exaggerated," emphasizing that AI still needs human prompts and validation to "create business value."

He stated that AI handles intermediary tasks while humans control the entire process.

Microsoft's research found that the professions most affected by AI in the future are knowledge-based roles, including news analysts, journalists, editors, and technical writers, which also exist in the cryptocurrency industry.

Customer service representatives also ranked high on the list.

Microsoft researchers analyzed 200,000 anonymous Microsoft Bing Copilot chat records to study the practical applications of artificial intelligence, finding that it is primarily used for information gathering, writing, suggestions, and teaching.

They assessed the effectiveness of AI in completing specific tasks to calculate the "AI applicability scores" for various roles.

The scores for reporting and writing roles ranged from 0.38 to 0.39, while more data-driven roles like market research analysts and data scientists scored between 0.35 and 0.36.

As this research was released, the U.S. Department of Labor reported that only 73,000 jobs were added in July, far below the 100,000 expected by Dow Jones.

As for cryptocurrency, CryptoJobsList.com added only 38 positions in July, while Remote3.co added 69.

Sacks reached these conclusions after referencing a post by former Coinbase CTO Balaji Srinivasan, who questioned the mainstream narrative of "AI replacing human jobs."

Balaji believes that AI still has limitations: "Current AI does not truly possess autonomy because it is not genuinely independent of the user." He added, "AI will not replace your job; it will empower you to do any job."

Balaji stated that if AI truly replaces anything, it is the "jobs of the previous generation of AI."
