Venus Protocol released an update regarding the attack on the THE market. Venus Protocol stated that this attack affected the Venus Core market, while Venus Flux remains unaffected and will continue operating normally. Furthermore, this incident was not a flash loan attack, and Venus's oracle did not fail. The attacker had been accumulating THE over the past 9 months and exploited a vulnerability in the protocol's legacy code regarding supply limits, bypassing the supply limit of 14.5 million THE by directly transferring to the protocol contract. Subsequently, the attacker manipulated the price of THE through low liquidity on-chain DEX, increasing the price by borrowing assets, converting back to THE, and injecting it into the market, continually amplifying the value of their collateral.

Aave released a post-incident analysis regarding the Swap incident. Aave stated that on March 12, 2026, a user executed a token swap operation via the CoW Swap router integrated into the Aave interface. The user attempted to exchange 50,432,688 aEthUSDT (worth about $5,043.27 million) for aEthAAVE. Due to the user's order being excessively large in an illiquid market, CoW Swap's quotes were extremely poor, and the user confirmed acceptance of that quote. It should be noted that the Aave protocol itself was never at risk, as this exchange occurred outside of the protocol, through the aforementioned third-party Swap protocol. Currently, the relevant user has not contacted the Aave team.

Luna’s collapse event was merely the result of its own algorithm executing as expected. The system just collapsed automatically. The strategy's collapse means Bitcoin also crumbles.
