Okx Exchange has announced the receipt of Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) pre-authorization for Virtual Financial Assets (VFA). This is a precursor to obtaining a full MiCA license which will allow Okx to provide localized crypto services to more than 400 million Europeans through its European Economic Area (EEA) hub in Malta.

The full license will allow Okx’s regulated crypto exchange products, such as spot and bot trading for 240+ cryptocurrency tokens across 260 trading pairs and 60 Euro-based trading pairs.

Okx intends to obtain the full MiCA license from its Malta hub with the ability to use it across all 30 EEA member states.

“We chose Malta as its MiCA hub because of the country’s comprehensive regulatory approach and high standards for blockchain and cryptocurrency, as well as its strong technology infrastructure. We currently hold a Class 4 VASP license from the MFSA.”
