The Ethereum Foundation has announced that Devconnect, an Ethereum-focused gathering of developers and the crypto community, will be held in Buenos Aires later this year. Due to the natural alignment of Argentina with Ethereum, the foundation has decided to especially support the local community in order to “bring Argentina on-chain.” This year’s Devconnect will feature a “world fair,” a special event dedicated to showcasing Ethereum applications in several areas, including identity, finance, governance, and day-to-day life. “Stablecoins, DeFi, on-chain identities, public goods funding — all of it will be at the Ethereum Fair for people to try,” the Devconnect team revealed. The idea of taking Devconnect to Argentina was first proposed by Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin in February.
