Trump hosted a dinner for $TRUMP buyers, allowing a whale to earn $730,000 in 30 minutes first.

Trump's performance art has no creative bottlenecks. After flipping through everything from tariff increases to pressure for interest rate cuts, he recalled the meme he posted back in January.

$TRUMP Exclusive "VIP" Treatment

In the early hours of today, the official website of TRUMP Meme Coin suddenly announced an invitation for the top 220 holders to a luxurious dinner. As soon as the news broke, the price of TRUMP, which had been hovering below $10, surged by over 75% link before retreating, and as of the time of writing, it was priced at $13.34.

Behind the huge fluctuations, speculators had already taken action. According to Lookonchain monitoring, a mysterious whale quickly jumped in after the dinner announcement, purchasing 407,000 $TRUMP for $5 million, and just 30 minutes later, sold it for $5.73 million, netting a profit of $731,800, a precise strike. Another whale sold 630,000 $TRUMP (about $5.48 million) before the announcement, missing out on a potential profit of $4.5 million afterward.

The allure of this dinner goes beyond just "riding the wave." According to the official website, the top 25 holders not only get to attend the dinner but will also be invited to an exclusive reception before the dinner, dining face-to-face with Trump. Even more extravagant, there will be an exclusive "VIP White House tour" the next day. This event, organized by Fight Fight Fight LLC, claims to be "a once-in-a-lifetime prestigious experience," with Trump himself attending as a guest and not charging any fundraising fees.

The website has also set up a ranking list for holders, displaying the largest investors of $TRUMP in real-time. As long as one holds enough $TRUMP from April 23 to May 12 and maintains their position, they can make it onto the "dinner invitation list." Currently, the investor ranked 25th holds about 4,000 $TRUMP, valued at approximately $54,000. The website claims: "The more you hold, the longer you hold, the higher your ranking!" This set of rules clearly captures the mindset of large holders.

In January of this year, Trump and his wife Melania launched the $TRUMP and $MELANIA memes on the eve of the inauguration. However, these two memes have become "PTSD" for everyone in the crypto circle. $TRUMP has fallen from its peak of $75.35 on January 19 to the current $13.34, while $MELANIA has fared worse, dropping from a peak of $13.76 to just $0.49 now.

Although $TRUMP and $MELANIA have faced criticism for insider trading and draining market liquidity, the timing of the coin launch before the inauguration does not involve any constitutional violations, and following the SEC's shift in February this year, which deemed that memes link do not fall under securities regulation due to lack of practical use, it seems the Trump couple will not face legal repercussions beyond public pressure.

Dinner: Trump's Marketing "Trick"

Using a private dinner as a gimmick and leveraging Trump himself for brand marketing is not a new tactic. Trump mastered this approach during his first crypto project, the "Trump Digital Trading Cards" NFT (Trump Trading Cards). Now, he is employing the same strategy again, using a VIP dinner and his personal brand to hype up the $TRUMP meme coin, precisely harvesting the enthusiasm of fans and investors.

In the Trump Trading Cards project, Trump designed a "buy more, earn more" incentive mechanism. Packages for purchasing 4, 15, 75, or even up to 250 NFTs come with progressively increasing rewards. The biggest buyers not only receive tickets to two VIP dinners but also get the "ultimate experience" of sharing two cocktails with Trump himself. So far, the dinner has been held three times in November 2023, May 2024, and September 2024.

This strategy of combining scarcity with celebrity effect quickly ignited market enthusiasm upon launch. In 2024, the first batch of about 50,000 NFTs, priced at $99 each, sold out in less than a day. Moreover, the rules stipulated that only the first batch of purchasers would qualify to attend the grand dinner event, perfectly tapping into fans' FOMO psychology. According to reports, many people purchased $10,000 worth of Trump Trading Card NFTs just to attend the surreal, sweltering outdoor reception held at the former president's palace in Florida.

Shu Qi's husband, actor Feng Delun, attended the Trump Trading Cards dinner in May 2024.

The official website claims that Trump Trading Cards "are not related to any political campaign," and the dinner events are not political in nature. However, Trump's speeches at these events are strikingly similar to his campaign speeches, with familiar slogans and topics that resonate with fans. This "non-political" packaging actually provides him with a stage that can both attract funds and solidify supporter loyalty.

Now, Trump has transplanted this "dinner marketing" strategy to the $TRUMP meme coin, adding new elements like the White House VIP tour and ranking competition to attract speculators and fans. Whether it's NFTs or meme coins, Trump's tactics remain consistent; he packages products with his personal "charm," stimulates purchases with scarce experiences, and avoids risks through "indirect control" operations. In this marketing game, Trump plays better than anyone else.
