🧐 Wealth is never the destination, but the starting point of risk|Talking about my experience of being scammed out of 80 $BTC through the story of Teacher Da Tao!

I see many people in the comments section who don't believe this story, thinking it's just for attention and traffic, but that's not the case;

You find it absurd because you underestimate the professionalism of scams and overestimate the average person's understanding of the "complexity of human nature."

We always think we won't be scammed because:

We believe only "fools" would fall for it;

We are confident we can see through the tricks;

We have never seen how a truly sophisticated scam can gradually strip you of all judgment.

But the truth is:

The higher the intelligence, the easier it is to be defeated in the "non-intellectual dimension."

High intelligence does not mean you are emotionally stable;

High awareness does not mean you won't feel fear in the "unknown territory"; you may be decisive in the crypto world, but on the battlefield of human nature and emotions, you can still lose miserably.

Everyone has moments of becoming a fool! Don't think you are the one who is always smart!

Just like you can never rely on "smartness" to overcome a "carefully designed psychological trap."

The terrifying part of this story is not its "melodrama," but that it could completely happen to you and me, especially to the following types of people:

Those who have suddenly become wealthy but have not completed their emotional development; those who are long-term isolated in the digital world and lack social experience in the real world; those who lack risk control systems and have no basic understanding of the judicial system; those who crave emotional belonging and are long-term lonely due to lack of love.

Many people have previously read my article "A Meal Worth 80BTC, Damn It’s Delicious!"

I wrote about my experience of being scammed out of 80 bitcoins by a person who called himself "Master M" a few years ago. This "Master M" designed a carefully crafted scam, exploiting human weaknesses, and successfully trapped me, leading me to unknowingly send him money. The scam doesn't seem sophisticated in hindsight, but at the time, I was completely unaware.

You can read the article yourself, which deeply analyzes the entire process of the scam and the psychological mechanisms behind it. In some ways, it is very similar to Da Tao's experience, just with different starting points.

Both are products of greed + fear, greed for wealth or sex, and fear of authority or a strong hand;

Whether it's "Da Tao" being scammed out of 200 million by "Auntie," or me being scammed out of 80BTC by "Master M," scammers are well aware of human weaknesses, using the victim's greed, fear, and admiration for authority to design traps that are hard to resist.

Their tricks include but are not limited to—

1) Carefully designed role-playing:

Scammers create specific personas, such as "rich beauty" or "master," to build a credible image, allowing victims to let down their guard and gradually fall into the scam.

2) Creating sunk costs:

By making victims invest emotionally, in terms of time and money, it becomes difficult for them to withdraw when they realize something is wrong, leading them to invest more resources in hopes of recovering their losses.

3) Information asymmetry and authority worship:

Scammers exploit information asymmetry, showcasing their exclusive resources or information. Out of admiration for authority, I can easily be misled by their words, neglecting the necessary vigilance.

So, what do I want to say?

Don't think that Da Tao and I are "extreme cases"!

We are mirrors of many ordinary people who lose their way after suddenly acquiring a certain amount of wealth. As spectators, you, I, and others often mock what we fear becoming the most.

Just like the quote from "The Shawshank Redemption":

"Some birds aren't meant to be caged, their feathers are just too bright."

But the reality is that most people do not know how to face freedom.

The same principle applies: wealth is never the destination, but the starting point of risk.

If you do not have a corresponding cognitive system, risk control, and psychological structure, wealth can become the bait that detonates your life.

Most importantly, it's best to have some high-awareness friends around you to discuss the problems you encounter; walking alone will ultimately not get you far.
