Historically, significant growth in open interest often precedes major price increases for XRP. For example, the current situation is similar to when U.S. President Trump directed the creation of a cryptocurrency strategic reserve including XRP, Solana (SOL), and Cardano (ADA) in early March, when open interest surged 46% from $3.05 billion to $4.63 billion between March 2 and March 3.
During the same period, XRP's price also rose 36% from a low of $2.17 to a high of $2.96.
Meanwhile, the 8-hour perpetual contract funding rate for XRP reached 0.0126% on May 22, an improvement from 0.0033% on May 21. This figure is now significantly higher than the -0.0005% recorded three weeks ago, indicating increasing bullish sentiment among retail derivatives traders.

The XRP/USD trading pair exhibits a classic bullish pattern, suggesting a potential recovery of upward momentum.
Since November 5, 2025, XRP's price action has formed a distinct bull flag pattern on the weekly chart, as shown below. A weekly close above the flag's upper boundary at $2.48 would trigger a new round of upward movement.
The target price is determined by the height of the flagpole, approximately $14.50, which implies a potential growth of nearly 500% compared to the current price.

Other bullish indicators include support provided by the simple moving averages between $2.20 and $2.30 on the daily timeframe, as well as the relative strength index (RSI) stabilizing above the 50 line.
Several market analysts also predict further increases for XRP, primarily based on technical chart analysis and solid performance above key support levels.
Analyst Dom points out that XRP's price is perfectly maintaining above the monthly and quarterly volume-weighted average prices (VWAP) of $2.32 and $2.27.
The analyst emphasizes that this cryptocurrency must break above the historical highest VWAP of $2.47 to sustain the upward trend. "The key trigger point for the rise will be breaking above the historical highest VWAP (green line). We are closely watching whether the bulls can achieve this breakout in the short term."

According to Cointelegraph, based on symmetrical triangle targets and Fibonacci projection analysis, XRP's price could rise to a range of $5.24 to $17 in 2025.
