Bitcoin has reached a historic high, and Ethereum is back above $2600. The overall market is steadily rising, and the process of "farming" has gradually entered a new era. In the past, farming almost exclusively meant a set process of "testnet launch - claiming rewards - on-chain actions." However, the meaning of farming has now shifted from low-cost interactions for new projects to a form of arbitrage, which can generally be divided into three directions: "Classical," "Exchange Farming," and "Mouth Farming."
This article will outline these three farming directions.
Classical
Classical farming broadly refers to the traditional "direct interaction with projects," so this section will introduce it in the form of project reviews.
Virtuals
The latest major token, $VIRGEN, is a pure meme coin, so it may be more appropriate to view the AI Agent Launchpad on this base as a new platform without the AI component.
Virtuals has undergone a significant update to its reward mechanism, launching the "Virgen Point" points system. It encourages long-term holding and staking behaviors through four methods: staking $VIRTUAL, participating in Kaito Yap, holding/staking designated AI Agent tokens, and holding new project/airdrop tokens. Correspondingly, there are punitive point deductions for those who do not hold.
With fewer points, the amount you can receive decreases, and you may even fall behind new projects.
Pharos
On November 9, 2024, Pharos announced the completion of an $8 million seed round financing, with participation from Faction, Hack VC, SNZ Holding, Reforge, Dispersion Capital, Hash Global, Generative Ventures, Legend Star, MH Ventures, Zion, and Chorus One Ventures.
CEO Alex Zhang was previously the CEO of the Web3 technology company @zanteam under Ant Group and served as the CTO of AntChain. CTO Wish Wu was the CSO (Chief Security Officer) of @zanteam. CMO Laura Shen was the marketing head for Solana Mobile and previously led crypto marketing at PayPal. Ecosystem head Aliu Musa has also worked on ecosystem development at Celo and Arbitrum.
On March 6 of this year, a testnet for developers was launched, announcing a $20 million incentive for ecosystem projects focused on RWA/payments, DeFi, and innovative projects in AI, DeSci, and GameFi.
Although the $8 million financing amount is not much compared to some public chains that have raised tens of millions, the $20 million ecosystem project incentive shows that Pharos is not short on funds. In terms of partnerships, Pharos announced in April 2024 that it had open-sourced the blockchain virtual machine DTVM, co-developed with AntChain and the Ant Supercomputing team, and maintains a collaborative relationship with @zan_team.

Ethos
Kaito's success has popularized the concept of "Infofi," which simply means providing a more direct and reliable channel for "monetizing traffic" in the crypto space. Following Kaito, a relatively popular project is Ethos.
Ethos resembles a "Dianping" for the crypto world, where users can give positive or negative reviews to project teams or individual players in the crypto space on this on-chain reputation network. In the future, this may become another way for project teams to screen potential partners.
Currently, participation requires an invitation code, and after successful registration, users must complete daily review tasks and actively engage in mutual reviews with others.
Blackhole
The new DEX supported by the AVAX Foundation (BlackholeDex) has only announced some innovative mechanisms so far, but it has confirmed that there will be tokens and testing activities.
Oyl Wallet
On March 8, 2024, Bitcoin infrastructure company Oyl completed a $3 million Pre-Seed round of financing, led by Arca, with participation from Foresight Ventures, Arthur Hayes' family office Maelstrom, Domo, UTXO Management, Taproot Wizards CEO Udi Werthheimer, Kanosei, and FlamingoDAO.
This wallet is currently promoting a Bitcoin asset protocol called Alkanes, which can be considered one of the most active new protocols in the Bitcoin ecosystem. The Oyl wallet features an XP system, where depositing Bitcoin and related Bitcoin ecosystem assets can earn XP. This XP may later be related to an airdrop of the token $DIESEL, which is the first token deployed by the Alkanes protocol.
Meet48
On April 4, 2025, the global WEB3.0's first AI-Agent and AIUGC creator and fan economy community focused on the entertainment sector, MEET48, announced the completion of a token round financing, with an FDV valuation of $100 million. The round was led by Liang Xinjun, co-founder of Fosun Group, along with Hash Global and HashKey Capital, with follow-on investments from Animoca, Infinity Labs, Promontory, Oak Grove, and several Web3 professionals. The new funds will be used to support team development and the creation of related AI products.
After registering an account, users can complete daily tasks in the Task Center to experience the product. There are reports that they are about to conduct a TGE.
Exchange Farming
In the past, the main ways to acquire new tokens on Binance were through staking BNB, FDUSD, and other tokens for mining, long-term benefits for BNB holders, and locking BNB while completing tasks. However, with the expansion of Binance's Web3 wallet services, Binance Alpha points have become a new important channel for obtaining airdrops. Since the launch of Binance Alpha points in February this year, if one participates consistently, the earnings have already exceeded 5000 U.

Mouth Farming
If you are unsure which projects to interact with, directly checking Kaito's attention leaderboard is also a good choice. Especially after analyzing the projects on the leaderboard and expressing your views, if it gains traction, you might unexpectedly benefit.
