Flare, a full-stack layer 1 solution designed for data-intensive use cases, introduced Luminite on Aug. 5. Described as “the first Flare-native wallet to leverage Turnkey’s embedded wallet technology,” the product is positioned as a seamless, secure gateway for users to access decentralized finance (DeFi) services on Flare. By removing seed phrases and enabling login through biometric tools, passkeys, or email, Luminite aims to appeal to less technical users and onboard a new generation of crypto participants.

Funding wallets is streamlined through fiat-based onramp providers like Topper, fully integrated into Luminite’s user interface. This design reduces the number of steps required to begin transacting with FLR, XRP, or other digital assets. Flare specifically highlighted the importance of Luminite for XRP holders:

With Luminite, users can delegate FLR to Flare Time Series Oracle (FTSO) data providers, mint FXRP, swap assets, bridge tokens across chains, and participate in liquid staking through Sceptre—all from a single application.

The company emphasized the wallet’s broader impact on DeFi adoption:

Flare anticipates Luminite will boost its XRPFi initiative and expand Total Value Locked across its ecosystem. A forthcoming “Learn & Earn” campaign with Revolut will also reward users for exploring Flare’s applications. As the company stated: “By offering seamless onboarding, frictionless onramps, and simplified access to Flare-native DeFi protocols on a single wallet, Luminite is set to accelerate DeFi adoption for XRP holders and new Flare holders alike.”
