This year, I've been to (chronologically):
• Dubai
• Hong Kong
• Bali
• Kuala Lumpur
• Seoul
• Tokyo
• Kyoto
• Miami
• Istanbul
• Tivat
• Budva
• Kotor
• Rome
• Florence
• Reggio Calabria
• Tropea
• Belgrade
• Bucharest
• Warsaw
• Nice
• Cannes
• Saint-Tropez
• Budapest
• St. Louis
• New York
15 countries in ~8 months.
Every time I've been in the States, I feel the least safe, the most lethargic, the most bloated, the most stressed, the least clear mentally, and the most tension internally.
Like a big weight on my back.
Saying this as an American who moved abroad 2.5 years ago is something that I never expected, but it's actually my reality and how I genuinely feel.
I even noticed it in 2024 when I went back to Santa Barbara for ~3 months.
What does it mean and why am I sharing it?
No idea, but it's a datapoint that some of you might find insightful.
What's causing it?
Again, no idea.
I have some theories and I think it's a combination of many factors, but it's definitely a legitimate difference.
But it's a sad realization that I've been having over the past two weeks since I've been back in the United States.
