October 16, 2025 — Sentient Labs, a pioneering company in the field of open-source General Artificial Intelligence (AGI), today announced its official expansion into the East Asian market by launching an ambitious campus tour series and corporate collaboration program. The company is committed to promoting and popularizing innovations in AGI technology and has previously secured $85 million in seed funding from top global investors, including Peter Thiel's Founders Fund and Pantera Capital.

As the adoption of AGI technology accelerates, current mainstream AI tools remain largely closed-source systems, with vague value orientations and unclear boundaries. Sentient Labs views China and East Asia as key forces in the democratization of open-source AGI technology. China is continuously strengthening its open AI ecosystem, with open-source models like DeepSeek and Alibaba's Ling-1T undergoing continuous iterations, enabling entrepreneurs, researchers, and students to participate in AI innovation practices without barriers.

Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder of Sentient Labs, articulated the company's vision: to broaden the development path of open-source AGI. He specifically noted, "We see the younger generation in China and East Asia as a key force in co-building AGI, and their early involvement will directly contribute to shaping the future of open AGI."

From October 24 to 31, 2025, TinTinLand will collaborate with Sentient Labs to jointly host the "Sentient East Asia Tour" in Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo, and Seoul.

Event Schedule:

· October 24, 2025 — Open AGI Seminar, Beijing · Tsinghua Science Park

· October 26, 2025 — Open AGI Seminar, Shanghai · Shanghai Jiao Tong University

· October 28, 2025 — Open AGI Seminar, Seoul, South Korea

· October 31, 2025 — Open AGI Seminar, Tokyo, Japan

The event will feature prominent guests including Professor Fang Zhixuan from Tsinghua University, Yang Zhuolin, a researcher at Nvidia's Applied Deep Learning Research Institute, and KAIST PhD students Wooming Song and Jaehyun Nam. They will engage in deep discussions on open-source AI topics with Sentient Labs researchers Edoardo Contente, Professor Sewoong Oh from the University of Washington, and Sheng Peiyao, among other team members.

Developers, students, researchers, and investors will gather to explore Sentient's technological architecture and vision, including localization practices for AGI tools targeting Chinese, Japanese, and Korean communities. Previous tour events at universities such as Fudan University and Shenzhen University attracted over 1,500 participants, with co-founder Nailwal personally engaging with young tech talents on-site.

Stay tuned for the latest updates on our open-source AGI schedule to get the latest news on Sentient's Asia tour.
