I actually feel quite deeply about this interview with Guo Yu.

Guo Yu's interview deeply resonated with me. For a long time, I couldn't figure out:

Is financial freedom really true freedom?

First, it's important to clarify that everyone has a different definition of financial freedom—

If we strictly adhere to the original standard of financial freedom, where passive income can cover expenses, rather than villas, luxury cars, famous watches, and young models, then financial freedom is quite simple; you can achieve it with 500,000 in your village.

If we follow the modern broad standard, once you reach A9, the anxieties of ordinary people are gone, and you truly have financial freedom, as a year's earnings can equal the entire wealth of A8.

From a monetary perspective, it can indeed reduce pressure, fear, and anxiety, especially considering that there are still 600 million people facing hunger in the world.

I’ve talked with other A9 friends around me, and he said that financial freedom is not just about money; money only solves external dilemmas, but your internal dilemmas will not disappear.

A9 is merely a gatekeeper of the upper class, having gained a chance to glimpse the top of the pyramid. In the face of higher levels, you are still an ordinary person.

As long as you exist in society and the market, you will be anxious about trends, anxious about change, anxious about whether you are falling behind. That kind of unease is actually quite similar to when you have no money; it’s just a different name.

So for me, spiritual financial freedom and numerical financial freedom are not on the same dimension:

Numerical financial freedom is "having"—you have enough money to withstand life's uncertainties;

Whereas spiritual financial freedom is "not having"—you are no longer controlled by these numbers.

You no longer need to chase "more" to validate yourself; you can accept gains and losses, accept cycles, and even accept that you are just an ordinary person!

As I wrote in my previous tweet—

If a person decides not to chase wealth after achieving financial freedom, then that person will never attain enough wealth;

But if a person continues to chase wealth after achieving financial freedom, then that person will never attain freedom!
