Ferrari Races Into Web3 With Elite ‘Token Ferrari 499P’ Launch

According to the Reuters report, the Italian automaker unveiled its first proprietary token Oct. 25 for just 100 members of its invitation-only Hyperclub—a circle where exclusivity meets horsepower and a touch of blockchain polish.

The token reportedly allows members to trade privately among themselves and bid on the 499P endurance racer, the hybrid that’s dominated Le Mans for three straight years (2023–2025). Ferrari’s digital experiment is less about crypto hype and more about wrapping scarcity in silicon.

Each Hyperclub member will have access to a closed-loop blockchain market where the token can change hands or be spent on special auctions. The first test drive? A 499P auction timed with the 2027 World Endurance Championship season—marking Ferrari’s first lap into tokenized asset bidding.

The project is being built in collaboration with Conio, an Italian fintech firm fluent in blockchain infrastructure for finance and luxury brands. Conio is handling the technical pit crew duties—wallet integration, token transfers, and compliance with Europe’s Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation—to keep things as polished as a freshly waxed F8 Tributo.

The 499P, which handed Ferrari its first Le Mans hat trick since 1965, will be auctioned only after its racing career ends. Bidding will unfold entirely in Token Ferrari 499P units—a nod to the company’s blend of mechanical precision and digital experimentation. Ferrari’s target audience here is clear: tech moguls and crypto millionaires who’d rather trade tokens than Teslas.

The move follows Ferrari’s earlier crypto acceptance in 2023, when it began taking bitcoin ( BTC), ethereum ( ETH), and USDC for car purchases in the U.S., later expanding to Europe in 2024. Those payments are instantly converted to euros—because even in Maranello, volatility isn’t part of the business model.

  • What is Token Ferrari 499P?
It’s a blockchain-based digital token exclusively for 100 Ferrari Hyperclub members, enabling private trading and participation in luxury auctions.
  • Who developed the token?
Ferrari partnered with Italian fintech firm Conio to create the token and ensure compliance with EU crypto regulations.
  • What can the token be used for?
Holders can trade within the Hyperclub and use it to bid on Ferrari’s Le Mans-winning 499P hypercar.
  • When will the auction take place?
The auction is expected to coincide with the start of the 2027 World Endurance Championship season.
