Tim Draper is a familiar face in crypto circles thanks to his long-running bitcoin forecasts, and he recently revisited the topic during an episode of the Divot podcast. On the show, Draper maintained that “ bitcoin against the dollar is a really good bet,” laying out a lofty path that starts at $250,000, climbs to $1 million, and ultimately lands at $10 million.

After that, he added, the U.S. dollar won’t be a reliable currency to use anymore. Draper then hopped onto X at 12 p.m. Eastern time on Monday, took a stroll down memory lane about his BTC buys, and reiterated his call for bitcoin to hit a quarter million within six months. “I bought my first bitcoins at $4,” Draper told his 277,000 X followers. “Lost everything to Mt. Gox. Bought back in – in a US Marshall’s auction when I paid over market at $632.”

Draper also noted that when bitcoin was valued at $180 in 2014, and he said it would reach $10,000 by 2017, many considered him “crazy.” Exactly three years later, it matched that precise figure. His subsequent forecast, he said, was disrupted by a misinformed government, but progress has since resumed.

The venture capitalist then added:

“Now I’m calling $250,000 in six months, and all up from there. $1,$2 maybe $10 million before bitcoin eclipses the use of the dollar. The Bitcoin network keeps growing while the dollar keeps shrinking.”

Draper then pivoted the X post to entrepreneurship, saying Draper University has shown it’s possible to turn everyday people into entrepreneurs. The school, he claims, has worked with 6,000 founders who went on to launch 2,000 companies, including six that crossed the billion-dollar valuation mark—all within a 15-year span. According to him, the secret sauce is “getting people to realize it’s okay to stick their necks out.”
