On X, it's also a personal social network. Today, while I was scrolling through X tweets, I saw a teacher I follow sharing a wildly incorrect viewpoint. In the comments, a few friends provided the correct answers, but most of the commenters believed the teacher was right. I really wanted to leave a comment pointing out the error or send a private message to highlight it, but I hesitated for a long time, even writing out a response, but ultimately gave up.
Although I haven't communicated much with this teacher and have only met a few times offline, this teacher holds a decent position in the industry, specializing in trading, and has many outstanding trading friends. If the article is published, there are probably three outcomes: either it escalates into a heated argument, or I get targeted by this group of teachers, or I get ignored by this teacher. Given this teacher's usual behavior, the chances of resolving things peacefully or getting the teacher to back down are very low.
I already have a poor reputation among this group of teachers. By not offending them, I can at least maintain some face. If I do offend them, it would be a whole crowd against me. I've experienced this kind of situation too many times last year, and I've become more tactful as a result, which is quite sad for myself. After all, I'm just an ordinary person.
