Binance has announced updates to its Binance Junior platform, enhancing how families save and learn about cryptocurrency together. Launched in December 2025, Binance Junior is designed for children and teens ages 6 to 17, offering a secure, parent-controlled environment that promotes financial literacy and responsible money management.
The expansion introduces Red Packet gifting, Merchant Pay options, and integration of the ABCs of Crypto e-book directly within the app. These additions create a more interactive experience, allowing families to explore digital assets while reinforcing positive savings habits. Parents retain full oversight, with the ability to monitor activity, set permissions, and enforce annual limits of $12,000 on crypto transfers and Red Packet gifts.
Timed with Ramadan and Chinese Lunar New Year, Binance is encouraging families to embrace crypto Red Packets as a modern, cashless way to share festive well-wishes. Juniors receive instant notifications and wallet credits when gifted, adding a digital twist to traditional celebrations.
Beyond gifting, the new Merchant Pay feature allows Junior users to make approved purchases at selected merchants, while excluding restricted categories such as gambling and tobacco. This family-focused approach provides children with practical experience in managing digital finances responsibly.
Education remains central to Binance Junior’s mission. The ABCs of Crypto e-book is now fully integrated into the app, offering illustrated lessons that simplify complex concepts and build confidence among young users. By combining allowance management, payments, and accessible learning, Binance aims to foster intergenerational financial education.
Yi He, Binance co-CEO, said: “Binance Junior is a family-focused platform designed for children to manage their allowance with savings and payment features. By helping children develop good money management habits early on, we hope to empower families to build a strong foundation for their financial future.”
She added that many of the new features were inspired by community feedback, with more updates planned to make crypto education fun and accessible.
Binance Junior fits into Binance’s broader push for crypto literacy worldwide. Through initiatives such as Binance Academy and partnerships with organizations including Africell in Africa, Binance has rolled out workshops, co-branded courses, and accessible learning tools to bridge the digital divide and make blockchain knowledge more approachable. These efforts aim to strip away complexity, turning crypto curiosity into practical, everyday utility for diverse audiences—from families in Asia to new users across Africa.
Binance envisions Junior as a platform that grows with its users, aligning with the company’s mission to prepare families for a future where digital finance plays a central role.
