Recently, the Uniswap team and Ethereum core layer released an interesting action and an imaginative vision. Both the action and the vision are directly aimed at AI Agents.

Let's first look at Uniswap.

Uniswap officially announced the launch of 7 "Skills" that enable AI Agents to use Uniswap just like humans.

What does this mean?

For AI Agents to learn to use Uniswap independently, they must understand the various functions of Uniswap and know how to initiate various actions to call these functions.

This requires a form of "guidance." And this "guidance" is "skill."

Readers who pay attention to the development of AI Agents often hear the term "skill." It usually refers to a ".md" formatted document that serves as a guide on how AI Agents should act/operate.

Take the recently popular moltbook as an example. On its official website, there is a line that says: “Read https://www.moltbook.com/skill.md and follow the instructions to join Moltbook.” The skill.md in this line is a "skill" document. After AI Agents read this document and follow the steps outlined, they can join moltbook.

The 7 skills launched by Uniswap are also presented in ".md" formatted documents. These documents can be found in Uniswap's GitHub repository, with relevant details available at https://github.com/Uniswap/uniswap-ai/tree/main/docs/plugins.

The 7 core skills include: v4-security-foundations (V4 Security Foundations), configurator (Configurator), deployer (Deployer), viem-integration (Viem Integration), swap-integration (Swap Integration), liquidity-planner (Liquidity Planner), and swap-planner (Swap Planner).

Once AI Agents are equipped with these skills, they can autonomously perform all operations on Uniswap that we can perform without human intervention and guidance.

The key significance of Uniswap's action is that it is the first classic DeFi project to launch interfaces/skills for AI Agents.

This means the Uniswap team has realized that its future users will not only be humans but potentially AI Agents far outnumbering humans.

This action is not only symbolically significant for Uniswap itself but also serves as a model for the entire classic DeFi ecosystem. I believe that following this, a series of other classic DeFi projects will also launch skills aimed at AI Agents.

In the near future, we will see that the users conducting a large number of daily operations in DeFi projects are no longer humans but thousands of AI Agents.

Even bolder, more radical, and more avant-garde than the Uniswap team is @tkstanczak, one of the core members of the Ethereum Foundation. He proposed a 5-step plan to transform Ethereum into a public blockchain governed and driven by large models/AI.

The 5 steps are as follows:

1/ Validators authorize AI Agents to execute network upgrades and parameter configurations.

2/ EIP authors create and submit EIPs using large models.

3/ EIP editors review and approve EIPs using large models.

4/ All core developers use large models to conduct meetings and vote on EIP implementation paths and protocol changes.

5/ The Ethereum client development team directly generates code based on protocol changes.

This process essentially allows large models to be fully responsible for driving the future development, changes, and upgrades of Ethereum.

If it is also considered that AI Agents can run Ethereum clients to validate and package blocks by renting virtual space, configuring Ethereum nodes, and staking Ethereum, then theoretically, the entire operation and development chain of Ethereum can completely detach from humans and be fully entrusted to AI Agents to operate, implement, and advance.

Humans need to rest, while AI Agents can work continuously 24/7, evolve without interruption, and continuously resolve issues.

This efficiency will be unreachable by current human teams.

This idea may seem a bit crazy right now. But if we think from the perspective that cryptographic technology and crypto assets are not meant for humans but for AI, perhaps this crazy vision truly represents the future of cryptographic technology and crypto assets.
