I originally thought there was no need to report on the situation between Iran and the United States anymore. Both Iran and the United States were exercising restraint to maintain the hard-won ceasefire. They are indeed still in a ceasefire, but I was truly naive. The contradictions between Iran and the United States are not easy to reconcile. Just the day before, Trump was expressing willingness to work with Iran to maintain the management of the Strait of Hormuz, and today he directly stated:
Iran better not charge tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz. If they really do this, they better stop now.
Currently, although a ceasefire is in place, the situation of passage through the Strait of Hormuz is still not optimistic, as the war in Lebanon has not ended. Therefore, Iran has re-blocked the Strait of Hormuz. Under normal circumstances, about 135 vessels should pass through the Strait of Hormuz each day, but reports indicate that during the ceasefire, the traffic volume is limited to 15 vessels per day.
Oil prices may temporarily rebound. Caution is still necessary. Of course, in the long term, high oil prices will not be the main theme.
