Smart little partner

Smart little partners, many of the partners who participate in the discussion are more about "participating." If you actually get into the game, you will know that the funding rates for BZUSDT and CLUSDT on Binance currently differ by more than double.

Especially in the last two weeks when oil prices have risen, I have seen CLUSDT's funding rate continuously negative since it started at $75, and I would feel the pain of shorting, while BZUSDT has mostly been at 0, even when most users are going short, still paying a lower funding rate.

The main reason is that many partners only know that CLUSDT is oil, but do not know that BZUSDT is also oil. The former is WTI, which I often refer to as American oil, while the latter is called Brent, also known as international crude oil, which I often refer to as British oil.

I previously wrote a tweet about shorting Brent, where the main content indicated that under normal circumstances, the price difference between Brent and WTI should be around $3-5. Once this gap widens, the returns from shorting Brent would be higher. During this recent oil price increase, Brent was at times higher than WTI by more than $8, which means the returns from shorting Brent would inevitably be higher.

Partners who are interested can look at the closing prices on Friday: Brent closed at $98.69, while WTI was at $90.46. During such times, shorting not only benefits from the drop in oil prices but also captures the emotional premium caused by the blockade of Hormuz (around $2-3).

Unfortunately, due to parameter relationships, BZUSDT and Brent have a price difference. After I chased BZUSDT at $95, I did not get filled at my order at $100. The highest price for Brent that day was $102, while BZUSDT was only $95.46.

Therefore, @rebelwanderwest is very correct in saying that the funding rate of BZUSDT is lower, making it more suitable for shorting. However, in terms of liquidity, depth, and trading volume, CLUSDT indeed performs better. I personally think that too few partners know about BZUSDT.

My personal trading strategy is to short BZUSDT when the price gap is high and to short CLUSDT when the price gap is low. When prices rise, I short CLUSDT to earn funding rates, and when prices drop, I short BZUSDT to save costs.

End.
