Recently, there have been many people asking for return follows, most of whom I haven't really responded to, not because I'm aloof, but because I can't manage it.

I really like @cz_binance's approach,

I think anyone who is truly doing things would appreciate this communication style, so everyone can reflect and learn from it:

CZ's format is great; if you want to reach out to someone for something:

In "one" message (not multiple):

I am ___. I need ___ (or) I can provide ___.

I often encounter some private messages on WeChat or X asking for return follows or attention.

I think there's nothing wrong with that, but you need to be clear:

1. Who exactly are you?

2. Why should I follow you? What can you offer me?

3. What do you need me to provide you?

Only then can we establish a basic connection. Instead of just coming in and constantly bothering me with messages saying, “Please follow me, I need your attention,” that would be quite strange.

Also, many people send a "Hello" after adding me on WeChat, and then there's no further communication, which is very silly behavior.

So, at least learn the basic social etiquette!
