Coinbase Ventures-backed Router Protocol will shut down Sept. 30 after bridge fees fell too low to cover fixed operating costs.

The project raised over $4M in 2021 and launched its own Layer 1 in 2024. By Sept. 7, Router Nitro was processing about $677 in daily bridge volume.
