RWA perpetual contracts are becoming one of the clearest growth lines in the cryptocurrency market.
In just three months, the total market (CEX+DEX) trading volume surged from $822 billion in May to $3.16 trillion. Each month's trading volume has been breaking historical records, with stock perpetuals contributing over 60% of the transactions. The top effect is extremely obvious: Binance, Hyperliquid, OKX, and Bitget together captured about 86% of the market share.

Binance achieved an absolute dominance of 50.4% with $1.59 trillion;
Hyperliquid secured second place with $54.28 billion thanks to its HIP-3 framework;
OKX ranked third with $34.51 billion.
The remaining 16 platforms together only accounted for less than 20% of the share.
Behind this set of numbers, there is a structural change worth delving into— the share of DEX has rapidly dropped from an early 51% to a recent 12.8%. Liquidity is clearly concentrating towards centralized exchanges. CEX is capturing the portion that originally belonged to on-chain due to deeper order books, a more mature execution experience, and lower slippage. Stock perpetuals have been dominated by CEX since the beginning, even the index perpetuals that originally had a clear advantage in DEX dropped from an on-chain share of 96%-98% to 85% flowing to CEX.
In such a major trend, Hyperliquid, as a decentralized platform, is still able to firmly occupy the second place, which is already quite unusual. Its competitiveness comes from two aspects.
The first is product and technology. Hyperliquid chose not to "rent" on existing public chains, but instead built a high-performance chain designed specifically for high-frequency trading from scratch. He has seen the highest efficiency in traditional finance and is well aware of its high threshold, lack of transparency, and serious exploitation by intermediaries. Thus, he aims to return the power of "price discovery" as much as possible to the market itself—anyone can participate with real money, orders are completely public, and settlement is automated. The true greed and fear often squeeze closer to the real value than Wall Street models.
As the market transitions from the early "experimental phase" to the "scaling phase," liquidity will naturally concentrate in places that offer the best experience and the most depth. Currently, CEX still has advantages in terms of execution, but Hyperliquid has already proven that decentralization does not necessarily mean liquidity disadvantage. It tells the market with actual transaction volume that a high-performance chain + transparent mechanism + exceptional trading experience can compete head-on with centralized giants in the high-threshold arena of RWA perpetuals.
The future space remains enormous. CZ has publicly mentioned that there may soon be true stock IPOs completed on-chain. Once more traditional assets enter the chain in the form of perpetual contracts, trading demand will be further amplified. And those top platforms that have already established depth, brand, and product matrices will be the biggest beneficiaries. Hyperliquid currently holds a unique position: it not only enjoys the incremental benefits brought by the RWA explosion but also retains its core attribute of decentralization; it is validated with real money by institutions while being voted on by the market with trading volume. Amidst the continuous expansion of CEX's market share, its ability to maintain a strong second place indicates that its competitive advantage is not merely a transient bonus, but rather a real product strength and technological capability.
