I mentioned going to events earlier this year when I was in Hong Kong. For most KOLs, attending events has lost its significance. In fact, if it’s just about content promotion for KOLs, I believe that aside from targeted invitations or sponsor events, it won't bring any actual business help.

Many people might disagree, thinking that attending events can help expand their network and provide more opportunities. This could be somewhat justifiable in 2024 or 2025, but now the information gap from attending events is too minimal.

Don't underestimate this—cryptocurrency itself is about information disparity. As Brother Lion said, meeting the right person could be worth the ticket price, but generally, "the right person" is hard to find in public. For instance, at the recent event in Bhutan, the number of invitees was already very few, and even fewer attended.

Sometimes, just meeting the right person doesn’t guarantee the right knowledge. Take, for example, the recent controversial "middleman" incident; in the end, what you find are mostly "middlemen." Over the past year, the transition from average market maker to average family office is one clear example of this.

When you go out, your reputation is something you create for yourself. Generally, only small group activities yield some useful insights, but this requires connecting with the right talents. There are too many "factions" in the crypto space, almost every one of them has figures at the "big brother" level. Indeed, grabbing onto a strong connection offers some advantage, but that’s it. If you haven't reached the core of a small circle, it results in the same situation.

Being strong in your own capabilities is the best approach. When you find that you no longer have to create your own reputation and instead others offer you respect, that’s when you’ve just started to enter the scene. But that's only the beginning.

I’ve mentioned many times, and perhaps friends don’t pay much attention, that KOLs are just the most basic layer of the cryptocurrency industry, and it still takes at least five or six levels to reach the core circle of the entire industry.
