A reader asked: "I missed the article on the chip tapeout project recently because I didn’t check it in time. The more I research, the more intrigued I become. I want to invest but don’t know where to start. For example, will the project's final value land on the transistor tokens or the mined BEM tokens?"
Tapeout is indeed a highly focused phenomenon on the BNB Chain, serving as a chain-based experiment and infrastructure project. It brings the concept of "tape-out" for chips on chain, allowing users to construct and run digital logic circuits on-chain.
In this project, there are mainly two types of tokens:
One type is the basic component tokens. Users can purchase these component tokens to freely design circuits on a canvas and "tape out." Once it is taped out, these component tokens will be permanently destroyed.
The other type is the project’s mining reward token, BEM. This token actually represents the entire project's cash flow and core value. Users can destroy components to deploy circuits on-chain, acting as "on-chain miners," who share the output of BEM according to the efficiency of the circuits.
In the early stage of the project, the component tokens may experience severe speculation, but once the project enters a mature and long-term evolution phase, the price of the component tokens will stabilize due to the mining yield.
If the project evolves normally, I believe the ultimate value of the project will rest on the BEM tokens.
This is just my understanding.
Upon seeing this message, I would like to suggest not so much about the project itself, but rather to advise readers to maintain a calm mindset.
"I missed out on..." I suggest getting rid of this fear of missing out as soon as possible.
Many times, we feel "missed out" simply because we compare the current price to previous prices. But this comparison is a pitfall.
The key to investing is looking at the future. One should think more about how this thing will evolve in the future. As long as it has significant appreciation potential in the future, and immense growth potential, then the current price is not expensive, participating now is not too late, and there hasn't been a missed opportunity.
There’s no need to keep staring at what the previous price of this asset was, nor to constantly compare how much more expensive the current price is than before.
I have repeatedly cited examples like this:
When Bitcoin and Ethereum were $10, how many people who bought them made 100 times their profit?
Why are there so few?
It’s because very few people could truly understand their value at that time.
If you didn’t understand and therefore didn’t buy or hold, you shouldn’t feel regretful, because not making money from something you didn’t understand is the normal consequence.
In fact, making a fortune from something you don’t understand may not be a good thing.
If you can understand Bitcoin now, believing it can rise to $1 million in the future (like within 20 years), then buying Bitcoin now and holding onto it until it reaches $1 million means that buying Bitcoin now is very cheap, very worthwhile, and you haven’t missed the opportunity.
"The more I research, the more intrigued I become," this curiosity is great. Just make sure, if it's curiosity and exploration, then don’t invest heavily; try with small funds boldly, and don’t focus too much on the gains or losses. Observe your inner feelings more.
It should also be noted that so far, I have never bought any of the project’s component tokens or BEM tokens.
The reason I have never bought any of these tokens is mainly because I’m not very confident that this project can continue to be profitable in the future and truly achieve large-scale implementation and application.
