“Personally, I feel that over the past one or two years, I have not put as much effort into writing articles. I should have written an outline and then let AI complete it. Although it still reflects my views, it doesn't feel as sincere and sharp as before. The feeling when listening to Himalaya from the programs in 2018 to 2022 is very sharp, though superficially subtle, the words and viewpoints are very sharp. Perhaps after gaining financial freedom in the bull market of 2021, my writing has become more laid-back. Regardless, I am still grateful for the continuous output, and every article is a must-read.”
This is a message from one of our long-time readers.
Many thanks to this reader and all the long-time readers for their ongoing interaction, sharing, and communication with me.
First, I want to clarify: the articles are still written by me stroke by stroke, I have not used any AI tools at all, whether for text polishing or for planning thoughts and themes, I have not used AI.
Therefore, I can guarantee that it is still the authentic, original human writing, striving to maintain manual craftsmanship and originality in the AI era.
Regarding financial freedom, I am still working hard, and my greatest wish is to see what my holdings (whether stocks or crypto) will look like in 20 years.
The issue the reader mentioned about the viewpoints in articles not being sharp enough, I realized this early on and even discussed this issue with friends. After careful consideration, I have a few reasons for this. Next, I will share my experiences and changes over the years in detail through a few articles.
First, my strongest feeling in the past few years is that there is a severe lack of sustainable, new, original, and native projects in the crypto ecosystem.
This is something many long-term readers who have been closely following the development of the crypto ecosystem can personally feel.
If I must say what fresh forces and stories have emerged in the past few years, what comes to mind is RWA (especially stock tokens) starting to become popular from last year to this year.
However, many of these projects are planned and controlled by institutions. In my view, these types of projects lack the native flavor of the crypto ecosystem. The attitudes and styles of those people always carry a sense of traditional conservatism, changing the soup but not the medicine: constantly talking about compliance, discussing regulation.
I am not saying that compliance shouldn’t be pursued, nor am I saying that there should be no regulation. Rather, I believe that in the face of new technologies and new waves, wild innovation should take the lead, charging forward without hesitation, addressing challenges as they come. It should not be that before anything has even come out, there’s already a focus on regulation and pondering compliance.
Therefore, the projects led and participated in by these institutions are far less attractive to me than native projects.
There have been some native crypto projects like PONS, but their sustainability remains to be observed, and there are too few points to elaborate on.
After setting aside the above, the only topics left to write about are Bitcoin and Ethereum.
There’s really not much to write about Bitcoin; occasionally writing some comments on skepticism is essentially just educational knowledge, repeating the same themes.
Similarly, there’s not much to write about Ethereum either. My attitude toward Ethereum has always remained the same, and I have become increasingly optimistic. Many events that others see as major storms impacting Ethereum are, in my eyes, just minor splashes. From time to time, I write some articles, but they too are just rehashing old themes, albeit with a different guise to convey the same principles.
Every time I write about Bitcoin and Ethereum, I think of the words Duan Yongping said when commenting on Apple: what’s so interesting about Apple’s financial reports.
Although I do not understand Apple, nor have I ever bought Apple’s stock, I can resonate with that feeling:
What is there to write about Bitcoin and Ethereum?
Counting it all up this way, the projects and inspirations in the crypto ecosystem that can truly spark my strong interest and excitement are almost depleted.
