Jamaica’s real effort to tackle high debt and interest rates began under the Bruce Golding-led administration (2007-2011). Inherited from years of poor economic management, the country’s debt had reached unsustainable levels. While we acknowledge the contributions of past leaders, Jamaica’s turnaround was only possible through the resilience and sacrifice of the Jamaican people. We will not allow the opposition to rewrite history.
