I think difficulty level has increased in general as markets become more mature and efficient. Most liquid funds have underperformed a btc benchmark. The lone bright spot has been select few airdrops and memecoins, and then MSTR / Metaplanet type Bitcoin structured products. That being the case I think for traders it is unclear they can pivot to say equities and then outperform. Those are even more efficient markets with also more clear stomping grounds that need to be passed through to even learn enough to get in the game. There is barely even an archetype of a highly independent day trader of equities, fx, macro, since maybe dot com days. Venture, if you have track record of deeptech investing there are similarly compelling industries to crypto today. For the curious, it does make sense. It is hard to argue that crypto is nascent technology. That being the case, im unsure whether the average crypto seed investor has the patience for the timeframes involved in noncrypto early stage. All this is to say individuals will come and go but the show goes on.
