The US government is expected to complete a comprehensive audit of its holdings of cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin by April 5th The US government currently holds approximately 198012 BTC worth around $16 billion. White House Crypto Affairs Director David Sacks stated that the US government has seized approximately 400000 BTC in civil and criminal assets over the past decade, of which about half have been sold for $366 million. If the government had kept all 400000 BTC at the time, their value would have exceeded $17 billion today.
